LABAN/BARTENIEFF

What is LMA/BF and Why it matters for YOU

MOVE Studios is the only Laban/Bartenieff-based movement studio in Colorado.  This movement analysis and body connectivity focused approach means that your education starts with evaluating your body organization and resetting your neurological patterning to facilitate your successful progression from where you are to where you want to be.

Laban Movement Analysis is the only comprehensive system for analyzing movement from a qualitative perspective. We look at how you move: where do you initiate movement? Is it smooth and organized or is it jumpy and dysfunctional? Are you walking with a fully integrated Cross-Lateral pattern, or have you lost connection in a lower pattern that needs to be brought back on board?  Once we identify the patterns that are not functioning, we help you reactivate them to move in a more organized, efficient way that decreases pain and stress on the body. And an easeful body can truly change your life.

Move with grace in Fitness, Sports, Dance and Everyday Life

This 18-hour course will introduce participants to the work of Irmgard Bartenieff, a dancer and physical therapist who developed a method of training individuals to move in an easeful, connected way based on the work of Rudolph Laban (Laban Movement Analysis) and human developmental movement patterns.  By learning to activate the innate patterns that support the body in motion, participants can begin to move with grace, ease and connectivity in everything from day-to-day tasks to high-level competitive dance and sports activities.
